HOYMA takes place in Southern Gøta (Syðrugøta), home of G! Festival. Put very briefly HOYMA is about concerts in people's homes.
20 concerts by 10 different artists take place in the livingroom in 10 different family homes in Syðrugøta. 2 concerts in each venue. Mostly everything is unplugged and there are no sound or lighting systems used.
According to Jón Tyril, who invented HOYMA together with the G! Festival team, HOYMA combines two important elements of Faroese culture. The concept of húsagonga, where you go from house to house to visit each other on special occasions, and utilizing the living room that was central to the preservation and creation of the Faroese language, storytelling and singing traditions for centuries, when the Faroese language and culture was not officially appreciated by the authorities.

Hví er tað so, eg haldi, at HOYMA er tað allarbesta av øllum teim mongu, góðu tiltøkunum, sum vit hava her á klettunum?
Tað er ein sovorðin nærvera, eitt andlit-til-andlits ting. Man er nærri hvør øðrum. Man er berari. Man hevur latið seg úr skóm og jakka, og man merkir hitan frá hinum fólkunum - og man lurtar betur. Allir sangir og tónar fara beinleiðis inn. Alt er júst til tín, har tú situr í tínum hálvhosum við einum kaffikoppi og einum køkubita. Tað er so hjartaligt og stemningsfult, so óformelt og erligt, og so er tað á føroyskum. Tað er onki uppgjørt yvir tí.
Man hittir húsfólki og nýtur gestablídni. ”Vælkomin” ”Gott at síggja teg” ”Fá tær endeliga” ”Takk at tú komst” Tey duga okkurt heilt serstakt við fyriskipan hasi Gøturfólkini. Í hvørjum húsi er okkurt leskiligt, og matstovuna má man eisini seta sær tíð av til (hóast tað er trupult at velja nakað frá í skránni) Hesuferð beyð hon fantastiskar, forkunnugar og vælsmakkandi smárættir frá Gutta. Har var ordiliga hjúklaðu um smaksleykirnar og hugnan og man fer mettur og væl tilpassar víðari.
Tað, sum er stuttligt, er Ordiliga stuttligt í hesum hugnaliga samanstúgvaða trunkanum av glaðum fólki, og tað, sum er nemandi er hjartaliga kensluborið í sama hópi. Man verður rørdur á øllum tangentum.
Tónleikin, orðini, røddirnar, alt fært tú serverað púrasta óduppað beint í tíni oyru, hjarta og sál.
Hesuferð eydnaist mær at hoyra Heiðrikur, Lyon, Elinborg, Silvurdrong/Trygvi og Una/Uni. Alt so forbanka gott.
